Right to Left Support Privacy Policy
Overview
Right to Left Support is a browser extension for Chrome, Opera, and Firefox. Its purpose is to help users switch selected page regions between left-to-right and right-to-left layout for Arabic reading and typing. The extension is designed to operate locally in the user’s browser.
What data the extension collects
Right to Left Support does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share personal data, browsing history, page contents, keystrokes, account information, or any other user-identifiable information.
- No analytics are embedded in the extension.
- No advertising SDKs or tracking pixels are used.
- No remote database or backend service is used by the extension during normal operation.
How the extension works
The extension listens for a user-initiated action such as a keyboard shortcut or popup button click. When activated, it lets the user select a page section and temporarily changes layout-related properties such as direction and alignment for the chosen element. These actions happen locally in the open tab and are not sent to any server.
Permissions and why they are used
The extension uses only the permissions needed for its core feature.
- activeTab: used only after the user interacts with the extension, so the extension can update the currently active page tab.
- content script access: used to apply RTL or LTR direction styling to the section the user explicitly chooses.
The extension does not monitor browsing activity in the background and does not read unrelated tabs without user interaction.
Storage
Right to Left Support does not use cloud storage and does not maintain a user account system. The extension’s current implementation does not store personal data or browsing data on external servers. Any visual changes are applied locally in the current page context.
Data sharing
Right to Left Support does not share user data with third parties because it does not collect user data in the first place.
Third-party services
The extension itself does not rely on third-party analytics, advertising, or remote processing services to perform its main feature. If you visit the developer website or browser store pages, those websites may have their own privacy practices, which are outside the scope of this extension.
Children’s privacy
Right to Left Support is a utility extension and is not directed specifically to children. The extension does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.
Security
Because the extension is designed to work locally and does not transmit user data to a backend service, the privacy risk surface is intentionally minimized. Users should still download the extension only from trusted sources and keep their browser up to date.
Changes to this policy
This privacy policy may be updated if the extension’s features, permissions, or data practices change. Any updated version should be published at the same privacy policy URL used in the browser store listings.
